Tour V2 Ease of Use:

Bushnell Tour V2 Rangefinder

The Bushnell V2 is light and compact easily fitting into the palms of most hands and needs only the support of one arm as this model has vertical mounted optics unlike some of the more dated laser rangefinders which are horizontal mounted optics like binoculars. Of course there is the option to stabilize the rangefinder with the opposite hand.

The LCD display is clear and easy-to-read with the distance read-out below the center circle which give’s a much better contrast between the dark numbers and bright pitch rather than some of the older rangefinders in which the distance read-out displayed above the center of the viewfinder where the distance read-out blended in with the darker background of foliage.

There are 2 buttons on the laser rangefinder. The button on the top is used to turn on/off the Tour V2 as well triggering the eye safe invisible infrared energy pulses when measuring distances. The side button which is the “mode” button switches the mode between automatic scan and “PinSeeker” mode.

The battery is claimed to last a full twelves months or about 5,000 lasers fired. To prevent the battery from being accidentally drained by the continual firing of the laser their is a safety mechanism where the laser turns off automatically after 10 seconds. To fire the infrared laser simply press the top button again until the target distance has been measured. All distance measurements are displayed for 30 seconds after the top button has been released.

Tour V2 Distance Reading Performance:

The distances that the Bushnell Tour V2 can reach are:

700 yards/ 640 meters for most objects

1000 yards/ 914 meters for highly reflective objects

The range accuracy is within one plus or minus yard/meter. Another variable is the environment in which the Tour V2 rangefinder is used as well as the maximum range will be shortened or lengthened depending on the reflectivity of the object being targeted.

Interesting note: On page 5 of the owner’s manual reads that the Tour V2 can read a farther range when the weather is overcast while on sunnier days the maximum range is less.

Tour V2 Targeting Modes:

Bushnell Tour V2 Rangefinder ViewfinderThere are two targeting modes for the Tour V2.

PinSeeker Mode: PinSeeker mode Selectively acquires the flag as the target without interference from the background objects that could possibly have a stronger signal strength. It’s been tested that with the farther the distance (about 275+ yards) the more difficult it is to use this mode. The flag is displayed on the lower left of the viewfinder when PinSeeker Mode is on.

Scan Mode: When panning the rangefinder slowly the distances will automatically display as each object is being targeted.

Golfer Reviews:

Paul 5 stars

“I’ve had the skycaddie for a couple of years.  But after about 6 months they both went kaput. Quickly I bought the Bushnell Tour V2 w/ PinSeeker just before going to  play 4 rounds of golf in which 3 courses I’ve never played at before. It does everything that Bushnell says it does.  Super easy to use and the PinSeeker mode works great.  Every reading has been dead on…. You can shoot at anything on the course not just references from the skycaddie computer memory.  No membership fees!” (Review has been paraphrased. Click here for the original review.)

T.H. 5 stars

“I’ve owned the TourV2 Pinseeker a little while now and am absolutely ecstatic with it. Easy to use, light and just tucks into one of my golf bag pockets…in about 30 seconds I can get a distance-read and choose a club. This is quicker than trying to figure out the distance or walking off measurements from markers from the course. When I decide on a club, it’s good to know the distance to the pin….and I find it useful to mark distance to hazards. I am seeing improvements in my scoring.” (Review has been paraphrased.
